Tea Towel Tuesday

Not a fan of the Steelers or the Packers? Or you have no idea what I just said? Then, these are the towels for you. Get in on the football hoopla by giving a shout-out to the good ol' Lonestar State and celebrate the Superbowl Texas style!

We've gathered up some recipes that most Texans are sure to have on their menu come Superbowl Sunday. Below are all the fixins you need to make great quacamole followed by the oh, so yummy, margarita.

Guacamole
Ingredients
4  Ripe Avocados
1  Roma Tomato, diced
1  Small Red Onion, diced
1  Jalapeno, deseeded and diced
½ cup  Cilantro, chopped
2  Limes, juiced
1 tsp Ground Cumin
1 tsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper
Kosher Salt to Taste
 Directions
Take the avocado cut across the center and split in halves.
Take the pit out and take the avocado out of shell using a large spoon.
Place in a mixing bowl and add juice of lime.
Incorporate together using a large spoon to break up the avocado.
Then add the rest of the ingredients and season to taste

Margaritas
Ingredients
1 lime, halved
Kosher salt
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (5 limes)
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (1 lemon)
1 cup Triple Sec
3 cups ice
1 cup white tequila

Directions
If you like margaritas served in a glass with salt, rub the outside rims of six glasses with a cut lime and dip each glass lightly into a plate of kosher salt.
Combine the lime juice, lemon juice, Triple Sec, and ice in a blender and puree until completely blended. Add the tequila and puree for 2 seconds more. Serve over ice.
If you prefer frozen margaritas, halve each of the ingredients, double the ice, and blend in two batches. Serve with a cut lime.
