  9. My mom and I love volunteering for Samaritan's Purse's "Operation Christmas Child". We have gone down to one of their processing centers and spent as many days as we could sorting through shoe boxes filled with small gifts & candy that will be sent to a needy child overseas. Sometimes it is the first time the children have ever received a gift of their own.

  12. Throughout life, I have been inspired to help others because of the example set by my parents. Also, when our town was destroyed when I was a child, the Mennonites showed up with moving vans full of food and household supplies and clothes. They worked hard where needed, then quietly left. It was a good example and I've remembered it always.
