ZERO waste

This Friday, April 22, is Earth Day. As we all try to help make this planet a little cleaner and greener, I don't know how many of us are able to go to the same extreme as the Johnson Family. This family never throws anything away! They were featured on the Today Show this morning and the Sunset has an interesting article about them here. After being a nanny to a family that lost everything in a fire, Mrs. Johnson decided she wanted to truly love and use everything in her home. I feel the same way. I have been doing a lot of de-cluttering at my home this past week. Every few months or so I pretend like I am moving and when I am going through things I think to myself "is it worth packing up, putting on a truck and moving to a new home?" and sometimes I wonder "did I know I even had this before I looked in this closet?"

As a former member of the Ecology Society in High School, I appreciate what the Johnsons are doing. Could I do it? Never. But I do try on a daily basis to be eco conscious. What about you? Do you think this is too extreme? Could you do it?

  2. I doubt that I could go completely waste-free, but I admire their effort! We all need to do our little bit :) I like your strategy, I think I'll have to try it!
